Phipps Park is a Tallahassee city park north of I-10 along Meridian Rd, across from the Lake Overstreet Trails of Maclay Gardens State Park. The trails at Phipps meander along alluvial streams, past ancient trees, and out to the shore of Lake Jackson, noted for its tendency to vanish down a sinkhole periodically. My friend Linda "Earthworm" Patton is the caretaker of the hiking trails through this lovely city wilderness.
